For those of you who are as geography-impaired as I, there's a fun place to learn at: http://www.maps.com/games/ I'm not going to reveal my scores... I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by - Douglas Adams |

I took the weekly Geoquiz, and found it quite challenging. I scored 5 out of 7, and a blurb at the bottom told me that I could've helped the Titanic avoid that iceberg! Great site, Thalion...definitely one to explore in more depth (as I search for certain wrecked boats off the coast of Canada). |

Hehe, Matt, I could avoid the iceberg, too. But pure horror for me is the North America jigsaw puzzle - not that I have any problems with Canada's provinces and territories - but when it comes to Alabama, or Kentucky, or... I get a constant plonk, plonk... I'm learning, though. The only one I'm really good at is Alienz... I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by - Douglas Adams |

What a great site! I particularly liked the USA jigsaw. I tried turning the borders on, but it became just pattern recognition, which I guess it also is with it off, but more challenging. What disturbed me was that I didn't recognise some of the names of the US states from their two letter acronyms! Don take what you want and pay for it |

The USA jigsaw was fun, but after putting the easy ones in it was pretty easy to figure out the rest. The "Find-it" for USA and Canada was more challenging, though with the little ones it was easy to make a mistake because of pointing the cursor slightly wrong. But also a few real mistakes, I must admit. The Europe "Find-it" caught me by surprise, I'm not sure I got a single of the former Yugoslavian states right on the first try!

I mixed it up in my post above, I got the plonks in the 'Find it' game. I'm pretty hopeless at that, but it is a good exercise, I think. But that site has more to offer. Did anyone check out the 'Themes maps' and 'World themes'? There are great maps about population, literacy, climate zones, vegetation, religions and so on, and so on... I will put it up as a featured link I think - maybe on the paleoenvironment, or maybe on Science? Or Clash? I'd like to add the link to that great statistic site you posted on AB, Miisa... maybe Clash would be the place for it, what do you think? I love deadlines. I think the reference part of that site needs to have a link to it somewhere, maybe science is the best place. As for the statistics one, I'd say the "Debater's Resources" in Clash, perhaps? Or both in both? I must admit to having spent hours in the statistics place, just surfing from one stat to the next...

Neat site! I got all the United States (no borders), 6 of 7 on the weekly trivia (I thought the Nobel prize was based in Sweden), 9 of 10 in the Continents quiz, etc. Lot of fun. I thought I was wrong once, but it turned out I was mistaken about that. |

That's a great site Thal. I tried the map quizzes (Africa, SE Asia and Continents and got perfect scores - but I am a geography buff - I always pick it in Trival Pursuit! - and they were fairly easy. Back to try more - just what I need something else to take up my time. I have no willpower! LOL! Scott ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Ces gens, Jondalar, ils sourient. Ils me sourient. - Ayla |
