Just in, from BBC news:

"The veteran French mime artist Marcel Marceau - known for his portrayal of a white-faced clown - has died aged 84, his family has said."

I saw Marcel Marceau in Brisbane, Queensland, around 1961, when I was about 17 (give or take ten thousand years!). I was blown away.

Vale Marcel. You re-invented mime and made it your own medium. Your like will not come again.
